El Santuario de la Naturaleza Humedal Río Maipo es un espacio de recreación y educación abierto a la comunidad, que funciona como plataforma para la conservación del humedal y de sus servicios ecosistémicos. Nuestro trabajo se organiza en cuatro programas principales: conservación ambiental, educación en la naturaleza, vínculo comunitario e infraestructura para un uso sustentable.
Conectar a las comunidades aledañas al Santuario con este ecosistema es fundamental para poder continuar con el trabajo de conservación y rescate de su biodiversidad, cultura y servicios ecosistémicos. El trabajo con organizaciones comunitarias, así como las alianzas con organismos públicos y privados resulta esencial para este objetivo.
The Conservation Program for the Río Maipo Wetland Nature Sanctuary focuses on studying and analyzing the ecological characteristics of the wetland, as well as identifying its threats. The program also aims to implement actions that promote the conservation of biodiversity and restore the wetland’s environmental functions.
