The RÃo Maipo Wetland Nature Sanctuary is a public space for recreation and environmental education that serves as a platform for the conservation of the wetland and its ecosystem services. Our work is organized around four main programs: environmental conservation, nature-based education, community engagement, and infrastructure for sustainable use.
Strengthening the connection between the communities surrounding the Sanctuary and this unique ecosystem is essential to advancing the conservation and restoration of its biodiversity, cultural heritage, and ecosystem services. Collaboration with community organizations, as well as partnerships with public and private institutions, plays a key role in achieving this mission.
